This race is limited to 75 teams.


Shuttle busses are provided to and from the relay exchange zones. Shuttle pick up and drop off is at the corner of 1st Street SE and 1st Avenue SE which is one block West of the Mayo Civic Center. After each runner finishes their leg of the race, they can hop on a shuttle back to the finish line area. There are no shuttles between the different exchange zones.

Exchange Zone #1 : At Water Stop 3 which is on Bamber Valley Road about 0.5 Miles south of Meadow Crossing Road SW

Exchange Zone #2: In the parking lot of Honkers Baseball (On E Center Street)  (This is walking only, no busses to this location, 0.2 miles from Finish Line)

Exchagne Zone #3: At the intersection of Avalon Cove Ct NW and Country Club Road, (by the large Mayo Clinic Parking Lot)

Shuttle buses for Exchagne Zone #1 either take off from downtown or from the start line (Start line bus leaves at 7:05 am to Exchange Zone #1).

Exchange Zone #3 buses will be from downtown only!

Headphones are allowed while you run, we just ask that you pause your music or take one headphone off as you approach volunteers or police officers to make so you can hear them. They may have special instructions or you may be approching a point where the different distances go their seperate ways.

Participants 21 years of age and over: Your registration comes with a free finish line beer! Be sure to stop in at the Team R.E.D. booth during the expo to pick up your beer wrist band.

Bag Drop:

There is not a bag drop for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th leg relay runners. Any warm up items that are brought with you to your exchange zone should be handed off to your teammate who just finished their leg before they board the return shuttle so they can bring your items with them back to the finish area and have them waiting for you. 

This section only applies to the runner of the first leg of your relay team:
Bag drop off area is located in the Rochester Internatioanl Event Center parking lot near the start line (look for the "Bag Drop" sign). We will bring the bags down to the finish line chute, for you to pick up conveniently after you finish your race. We are not responsable for any valuables that are left in the bags during transport. The first leg relay runner can pick up their dropped bag in the finish line chute once upon their return from the exchange zone.

Important message about safety and security:
You MUST use the bag drop bag provided to you at packet pick up, no other bags will be accepted! The bag drop is heavily monitored and all bag drop bags are subject to search.

All unnattended bags left anywhere on the grounds will be confiscated.

Exchange Zone 2: 13.0mi [Leg 2 Length: 6.3mi]

Exchange Zone 3: 20.1 mi [Leg 3 Length:7.1mi]

Exchange Zone 3 20 mile finish

 Last Leg is 6.1 miles

Race Awards:

The top 3 teams in each of the following categories will win an award:

Male Only Team
Female Only Team
Coed Team

Overall winners for the Relay will receive an award medal. Relay winners are determined by Gun Time, not Chip Time.

All team members receive a finisher medal and a beer ticket for a free beer for 21+

Race Swag:

As a thank you and to celebrate our 25th anniversary, Med City Marathon is giving each runner a  1/4 zip jacket and a drawstring bag.  Jackets are available in unisex sizing. All jackets are given to participants at the packet pick up and registration tables.  Medals are given to all participants who finish their race.  They will handed to participants in the post race corral.
